Over the past two months the Legionaires have hosted a breakfast on the first Saturday of the month. In just these two months they have raised enough money to provide in excess of 300 meals for the Hand2Hand project which provides weekend meals for children of the Delton area.
Help them to support this project by attending the breakfast that they host of the first Saturday of each month.
As we close out another great year, let me give you a few statistics. Keep in mind that this is only a portion of what we have accomplished:
We ended 2022 with 1001 members. We will end 2023 with 1142 members
Our Lodge has donated at least $1227 to Moose Charities
We have held fundraisers for the DK Band Boosters, The Shack, the Orangeville Community Outreach, Barry County Veterans Memorial Dog Park, the Hastings Band and Performing Arts, McCallum Church, Pierce Cedar Creek, the Community Housing Revitalization, Delton Kellogg Education Foundation, Barry County Cares - totaling $5513 in funds raised that was donated to these organizations.
We have also made other contributions in the form of sponsorships totaling over $1100 in various organizations throughout Barry County.
We have opened our doors for organizations like the Rotary and Senior Mystery Trip to use our facilities to promote their own fundraisers.
We hosted our annual Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Party and Breakfast with Santa, touching the lives of over 250 children in our community.
And, it difficult to put a number on the fun we've had this past year.
All in all, I'd say 2023 was a good year.
We just made it easier for you to donate to the kitchen fund! Have you been meaning to make a donation, but just haven't taken the time to write the check and then get it to the post office?
We now have a donation box so you can drop your money off easily. It doesn't matter how large or small the donation is - it all adds up. After all, think of the Power Ball Lottery - that is a whole lot of $2 tickets that have been adding up to billions!
The box is right there in the kitchen area. Might be on the counter where you order or it might be on a table in front of there.
CONGRATULATIONS to Dan Jeska. . .
This year's Delton Moose of the Year! We are so proud to have him as a part of our organization.
We have our new keycard reader in place so have your Moose membership card handy when you come.
Most cards have a QR code. Hold your card 1 - 2 inches below the reader. Listen for a click and the door will open so you can enter. Make sure you keep your card out because you will still need to show your card to order drinks.
Congratulations to Anita Lewis on achieving the Gold Gavel!
